    Question cdosysmail

    Please advice.
    I have a SQL 2K Ent Ed SP3 on a WIN 2k SP4. I ran the stored procedure sp_send_cdosysmail to send SMTP email to clients but had this
    message
    CDO.Message.1
    The transport failed to connect to the server.

    SMTP and IIS Admin service are ran on the SMTP Server different from the SQL Server.

    Help appreciated.

    Ensure smtp server is running and you can send mail outside of sql.

    You have to make sure that the SMTP server can relay email from your sql server box. Check with your mail admin and add sql server in allow list.
