    Enterprise and Std on same server

    We have a test server where SQL Server 2000 STD was already installed. One of the staff wants to install Enterprise Edition to test the failover clustering feature.

    Never tried but it may work. But you can't have both running default instance. Install enterprise with a named instance. It should write the binaries to a separate folder and there should be no conflict in services.

    I can find nothing that says one way or the other. I suggest trying it. LEt us know how it turns out.
