    Oracle Backup

    Hello

I had my Oracle 8 Server running in the non-archive mode.
Now that my hard disk has crashed, is it possible to recover the Oracle data, if I manage to get the Data files and control files from the crashed Hard Disk?

    Pls, Anyone to help?

    Thanks in Advance

    Robert,
    in a nutshell,

If you are able to get ALL datafiles from the crashed disk, and they are current with the other datafiles, and your online redo logs have not cycled, then you should be able to just start up the instance.

If you are moving these datafiles to a new mount point then you will have to rename datafiles.

    keep us posted.
also, take a look at the recovery manuals for a crash recovery.
