Checkbox and New Custom Form templates

I still can not get checkboxes working even after duplicating the code in the example @ www.aspdb.com/y2k/.
When I use the code from the example against SQL 7.0 I get "Invalid column name 'TRUE'"

When I use the [[pdefault:CU]] in my comments section of the template with a checkbox named pdefault I get "Invalid column name 'TRUE'"

I'm stuck please help.
