WARNING: Clearing procedure cache to free contiguous memory.

We see the following message in our error log.
WARNING: Clearing procedure cache to free contiguous memory.
It is accomonpanied by fairly intensive CPU activity.
We get this roughly once per working day.

Anyone have any idea why, and what we can do to stop this?

    Regads,

    Jim Plant

HI Jim - did you ever find out anything about this - the same message has appeared in our errorlog. What was the problem?

    Step 1. Buy more RAM
Step 2. Add item to budget: Buy more RAM next year.
Step 3. Repeat step 2 forever.

The warning you are getting is not a problem. The server keep a cache of recently used SPs and you are now trying to run another but there is no space for it so ... cleanup time.

Ignore the message ... or get more RAM. Even with more RAM you may still get it, but less often.
