Before installing the SQL7 utlities on a client PC running Windows 95 and using TCP/IP, the client could ping the server ang obtain an instant response using the host name and the ip address.
After installing SQL7 Enterprise Manager, when trying to connect to the server, the client locks up for 5 minutes before establishing the connection.
The same goes for 'ping' strangeley it sits there for 5 minutes before returning the packets. Once connected everything is fine, but the user is complaining about the 5 minute delay before he can do anything.
This one has got me really puzzled, can anybody help ?

Thanks

Tom
