updates do not work

I am trying to update a table in MSAccess. The query runs and shows the changes, but when i look at the table, my changes have not taken hold. Also, looking at some examples, they mention that when we use the wizard for queries we should see an option for an update query and i don't see any. And i have not used the wizard for my query.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why the query would not save the changes i made?

Is there any way you might show us the syntax you are using? What is the outcome of running the query?

Thanks for the reply.
But, it was a bonehead mistake. I found that the query was updating the wrong table. I had changed tables and forgot to change the updates to the new table.
