    Help Please (cannot backup database)

    Hi,

I tried to manually backup my databases on SQL 6.5, but it tells me that
    my backup devices has expires.

    Here is a sample error:

"[SQL Server] Diskdump 'F:MssqlackupPubsdump.DAT' expires on
day '208' year '2000' and cannot be overwritten.

This happen to all my databases. I tried to delete the old dumps and
re-create a new backup devices and redo the backup. It still did not work.

Please help if you have any suggestion.

    Thanks in advance.

We have not gotten to day 208 in 2000 yet, so this is a weird message.

What is the error number in the sql log? What fix pack level are you on for sql server and nt? Did you apply all the correct Y2K fix packs for this product set?

    Help me out...........

    Craig,

The error log says the following:

    source: kernel

dbswritecheck: Incorect File indicator specified for dump device
    'F:MssqlackupPubsdump.DAT' : Cannot find file 5665787144 on
    device 'F:MssqlackupPubsdump.DAT'

I am new in this company.
I have no clue as what service pack was install in SQL or NT.

    Thanks
