    SQL 6.5 and SMS 1.2

Are there any considerations when running SMS on SQL server?
It is my understanding that SMS extensivelly uses and configures the SQL Server to it`s needs. It would seem better to let the two stand alone on a machine.
We have a mission critical database that must run on the SQL server and need to know if it would be better to move the newly installed SMS, which was installed without our knowledge. We do not want SMS interfering with this database.
Anyone have any feedback on this...?
    Thanks,
    Laurie

You should move the SMS server and the SQL Server onto a separate server. The more clients you start to inventory the greater the load on the server.
