xp_sendmail how many of you have problem with it ?

Hello everybody.
Periodicly I have problem with xp_sendmail.xp_sendmail starts but never finish ,I can't stop it by exec xp_stopmail.

The only way restart server


I am running WIN2000 SQL2000 Enterprise edition Sp2.
No changes done on Exchange
No Changes done on Profile
I am sending Excel files as attachments
My Sql agent mail for job notification run fine.

What could be possible problem with my mail ?

open outlook using the same exchange account and email the same recipient being used the xp_sendmail stalls. it may be an exchange issue or issue with resolving the recipient.

I tried , mail goes fine when send from outlook directly.
All mail send by xp_sendmail freeze again tonight.
I will exclude one by one evry job or program that use xp_sendmail
but any help would appreciated.

Alex, my configuration is a little different than yours but I was having a similar problem with xp_sendmail, then I read some where that sqlmap70.dll delivered with service pack 2 has some bugs in it, I replaced it with the one from service pack 1, and now I can start/stop mail without any problems (so far).
