    How can I set the sort order to 42, nocase when I install sql server 6.5
    does Setup gives you some option to check to set sort order ?

    Yes,
    I used the unattended way then the parameters were in a file, if you have a lot of server, I recommend this way, it's quicker, you 'remember' the options taken etc.
    [SortOrder]
    SortFileName=?????
    SortConfigValue=42
    in this section, for instance, the value chosen was 42.
    If you do the setup manually, you could do the choise.
    So 42 is dictionnary order Case insensitive (near the default) Isn't it
