Hello, just joined and hopefully looking for some help!

Company I work for uses R:Base11 for their database system. I have been tasked with the nightmarish scenario of cleaning and improving... everything.

I'm trying to make this post as short and sweet as possible, so the best 'long story short' I can explain is;

  • Company I work for is an Electrical Contractor
  • I'm an electrician that's been promoted to managing their database (they found out I have some college in the computer science field...lucky me)
  • Sometime ago, before I was with the company, they hired Razzak Memon himself to custom build an application using R:Base

I have A LOT of questions and have been searching high and low, using every trick that I know to curate my searches with google, and I can't find ANYONE using, or talking about R:Base...

Is this a relational database software that is quickly fading away? Or is it that R:Base Technologies has their training and resources to learn so air-tight that they essentially force people to use their internal training programs?

Biggest take away for me is if R:Base truly is fading away, then I may have the opportunity to negotiate with owners about doing a technical "fresh start" with a more relevant database software.

I could also be suffering from complete delusion and ignorance... so please help!
