    SQL 2008 cluster

    Hi

I am goin to install SQL server 2008 on a clustered environment of windows server 2008 for the first time.

The ip's of two nodes are 10.192.11.122, 10.192.11.123 and the cluster virtual ip is 10.192.11.124 (clusv)

can i use this VIP as SQL VIP and this name as SQL network name. If yes, is it safe to do so??

I hope i am making sense!!

No, you need separate sql virtual name and ip address.
