sql maintenance plan fails database missing

2005 sql cluster maintenance plan created. selective dbs to backup. eventually one of these dbs is deleted without changing maintenance plan. next time it runs error in log files
Failed0) One or more selected databases no longer exist on server. the db is deleted and there is no reference to the deleted db within the plan. the only way to get rid of this error is to rebuild a new maintenance plan.

    any ideas ?

Don't need rebuild plan, just go to backup step and choose dbs again.

I have seen this with SQL 2000 maintenance plans, but not SQL 2005 ones. I would agree with rmaio, just go to the plan and modify the backup task and it should work.

It happens on sql2k5 even sql2k8, plan will not change dynamically when db changes status.

    Try a wild card.

No such option in maintenance plan.
