    Backup starting problem

    Hi there,

    Our database size is nearly about 4 GB.Now the problem is,when we take the database backup to disk , the backup is not starting.It shows the message "backup in progress" , but actually there is no progress even after waiting for one day !Please provide a solution.

    4 gb is small in nowadays. You backup to local or remote disk? Disk has enough free space? What did 'current activity' tell you?

    Do you see backup file created in the backup location? Anything in SQL Server error log and Windows event log?

    Hi Friends,

    The issue is solve now.The problem was because of a scheduled backup to tape ,which was in error state.I deleted that job abd tried again.Now it is working fine.Thank you for your valuable support.
