i am new on GUI and i am not good on java

i have comlicated task >>>> using GUI ..

my supervisor asks me to do small application which can organize his work which is holding IT courses .
so he want small application using java which does the following ..
1- serch for trainee and display his information from the database.
2- add new tranee to the database.
3- print invoice .


i am confusing i do not know any thing about java database and i do not know how to start the project becouse i forget the programing ...

i will be glade if you guied me .
