Help buying the right server for SQL 2008

    Hello,
Iwant to build a SQL server based database with an access front end for about 100 users (simultaneously). Users will be connected to the server both locally and remotely (via vpn). Date will be written read evenly from and to the database.
front end will reside on end users individual machines.

I need advice as for what kind of hardware will suffice for this task. In other words, what kind of server should I purchase in order to insure solid performance for the the 2008 SQL server.
I'm rather new to purchasing servers and need help with the following categories:
    Hard drives: SCSI or SATA?
How much RAM will I need?
should I buy a server with multiple Processors? if yes then how many and which ones are recommended?
    what else should I consider?

    thanks

The Nature / Size of the 2k8 database is important, too.

The nature and size of the database, along with other surrounding factors, might make a big difference, as well... feel free to pass along any specifics for our consideration, if you like.
