Change Data Source of SQL 2000 Analysis Services Cube

    Hi

I have a Cube on SQL 2000 Analysis Services. The database that this Cube relies on, is moved from one server to a different server recently. I want to know, what is the simplest way to point my Cube to the new database server. Please note that, there is not change in the Database schema. Just it was moved to a different server.

I am desperately looking for some information regarding this issue, but I have not found much details on SQL 2000 on internet.

    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Thanks and Regards

There is data source setting under AS database, you can modify it.

Thanks for the response. I can add a new Data Source, but I am unable to set the new data source to the cube.

Easiest to Repoint via the Existing Source in 2k ...

Do an Edit on the existing source, and re-point it to the correct Server / RDBMS. Try this, and get back with any specific questions - it's a process that has never given me a problem, but I often find out that there is something "unexpected" in the environment under consideration, when I get a question like this, so I gave up saying "it's easy" many moons ago.

Again, keep us updated on your progress.

Data Source change still an issue

I tried Editing the existing data source.

I right clicked on the Data Source, clicked on Edit and gave the new server and RDBMS and clicked OK. But, it did not update the old source.

When I right click on the cube and click on Edit, I can see the Dimensions and Measures and under the Properties, I could see the old Data Source as a disabled value. I am not able to edit it either.

May be, I am missing something or misunderstanding something.

    Please help.

What's AS startup account? What kind of permission that account has in source db on new sql server?

    Didi you get this resolved?

It sounds like a connectivity issue. Can you see the RDBMS server (the remote server containing the AS Datasource) in Enterprise Manager? (Just wondering if you have connectivity at any level ...)

    Thanks.
