How to check the load balancing via server side using the code into the TNSNAmes.ora
hi all,
i have used the code provide for load balancing through server side and i just want too check how it is possible to verify that its is really working.

Turn on logging, or sniff the network.

you can connect to database using multiple sql plus window and check which instance it connected to
select instance_name from v$instance
if load balancing is working, you should get fairly balanced connections.

what exactly i want to know is that how can i make my appliaction to get connected to different database server instance in oracle 10G XE, so that if one connection fails then it should automatically connect to other instance availabe.
We are using hibernate in ur appliaction of j2ee.
Plz reply i need to do it asap.

Load balancing does not autamatically failover connections. You have to use Transparent Application Failover (TAF) to do that.
You need to put TAF specific parameters in your tnsnames.ora file.
