Data Encryption in SQL server 2005
Hi,
I will moving into SQL Server platform and i would like to know about capability of Data Encryption in SQL server 2005. I am currently researching the out of box encryption process that MS SQL provides and whether or not that is sufficient to satisfy PCI compliance. I am new for MS Sql server and don't know anything about how MS Sql server provides strongest method or not.
Thanks in advance for your help!

What does PCI compliance require?
-
There is nothing out of the box if you are comparing it with Oracle's Transparent Data Encryption with wallet.
SQL Server provides commands to manage keys and encrypt columns, so application coding is required to use it.

Thanks for your response.
As per PCI complience, its required to Rotate the keys.
Please let me know if MS SQL server provides this kind of mechanism.
We are currently using Ingrian for Oracle DB.
Thanks,
