a question about importation of access database

    hi there .
i`d like to know if it`s possible to import access database or to transfer
text files containing datas in SQL server in order to get those in the tables.
it would be a gain of time.
    thanks...

a question about importation of access database (reply)

There are many ways to get an Access database into SQLServer.

    1. Upsize with Access

    2. Use Access to connect to SQL and insert the data

    3. Use 3rd party tools to transfer the data. Such as SQLmover, DBArtisan, etc

    4. Export to a file and BCP the data in.

It is an Access add-in tool. It should be on the Microsoft website. But not sure where.

    Guys....
send me you email address and I`ll send you a copy of UPSIZE.

I`ve never been able to get it working on Win NT though, please let me know if you can.

    Cheers,

a question about importation of access database (reply)

    For Access95 use: http://support.microsoft.com/download/support/mslfiles/Upsize95.exe

    For Access97 use:
    http://support.microsoft.com/download/support/mslfiles/Aut97.exe

I think they both worked on Windows95 and Windows NT but I rarely use Access to `upsize` a database to SQL Server so I can`t be sure.
