appending parent data to xml child extract

can off the shelf features in ssis be used to extract a specific child node's data from a variable of type xml but append critical reference (foreign key) data from its parent node to the extracted rows? I'd like to avoid writing a script if I can. I need the parent reference (foreign key) data when I persist the child data in it's target table.
