    Question Methods for restoring the master db

    Everytime I attempt to restore the master database, it corrupts the entire instance of SQL server 2000. I have been using the method out on Microsoft's Knowledgebase:

    using sqlservr.exe and the switches -c -m -T3608 -T4022

    I would like to know if anyone has other methods of restoring the master database from a backup device.

    That's the only way. Ensure you restore from good backup.

    The integrity of the backups are always good before restoring. Microsoft's article said I can run some other scripts, but after restoring the backup the command prompt quits. Then enterprise manager gives me an error message that the connection was lost and then it will freeze up.
