    Cannot install Reporting Services 2005

I once successfully installed SQL Server 2005 on my main machine, but then for various reasons I had to completely re-install everything on the machine, from the OS on up (XP Pro). And now when I try to install SQL 2005, I can't even select Reporting Services. Everything else installed correctly. I have no idea where to look for what's wrong.

I hope someone can help on this problem.

    TIA,
    Arthur

Did you install IIS or any other web server on the machine? RS needs web server to run.

IIS is installed. FrontPage extensions are not, because I didn't install FrontPage. I've looked over the IIS configuration and it seems to be ok. I didn't install the ftp server and a couple of ther things. I may have overlooked something but I'm not sure what to look for.

Here's a clue. I can ping the machine but I can't get to the IIS site using the browser (i.e. http://192.168.0.101/). Does that mean that IIS is installed but not running?

    Thanks,
    Arthur

    Check status with IIS manager.
