    [ODBC SQL Server Driver][Shared Memory]SQL Server does not exist or access is denied?

    What is this error message? I've looked at some articles online, but just wanted to know if anyone has come across this issue and resolved it. The server is operating, but this message is generated in the log on a regular basis.

    ID=19000 Source=MSSQLServer Type=1 Message=ODBC error encountered, State = 08001, native error = 17, error message = [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Shared Memory]SQL Server does not exist or access denied

    What's your sql version? Do you try to connect to remote sql server? If so, have to use named pipes or tcp/ip netlib.
