10gXE is free edition and Enterprise Edition is full blown edition with all the features.

You can find the detail at oracle.com

10g express has the following limitations that I can remember
1 CPU and max data is 4 gb. I am sure there are others but those are the big ones that I remember.
Standard One can use 2 CPUs
See oracle documentation for more info
Ain't much but hope it helps

    babyface82,

start --> programs --> oraclehome --> configuration and migration tools -->
    database configuration assistant.
This will help you to create a database. .you have to enter a SID and global database name. The same value can be used for both these parameters. For the parameters asked after that you can get lucky and the database will be created with oracle default values.
you haven't mentioned what vesion of oracle u r using. Assuming it's 9i
use the above method to launch the database config assistant.
