    Implications of sp_dropserver

    I need to rename my server and i believe i have to use dropserver and addserver. What are the implications of using these commands. Will I lose any data or anything?

    you need to update master..sysservers and msdb..sysjobs table when you change the server name.

    Don't forget specify local when run sp_addserver.
