    SQL Server Reporting Services

    Hi:
Would you call using Reporting Services API within your website to generate reports a 3 tier architecture ? I am a newbie at this and I was in a discussion with the developers where they seem to think that if I create a report in reporting services and call a stored proc to access data it would comprise of 2 tier architecture.

    Please help me understand this!

yes it does matter because we are trying to propose a new architecture to mgmt. Currently we have a webiste in C# that calls stored procs and xslt to display about 80 reports. I think we spend more time coding the xslt than it would take us to do the drag drop formatting in reporting services.

I agree with rmiao. It's not important which buzz-words you call it, what is important is if it is more efficient and productive. Call it 6-tier if that's what makes management happy.
