SQL is a generic acronym for a database's query language. MySQL is a brand name of a datase system. MySQL uses it's own form of SQL. All database brands pretty much have their own SQL language though all are similar as they are, for the most part, based on the ANSI 92 SQL standard.
I suggest narrowing down what database system you want to use before delving into learning a specific SQL language.
