    Barcode In Access

Is it possible to create an application in Access to store barcodes in a database?

I ship course material to students & would like to be able to scan each item sent into the students' respective record on my database.

    Any comments or suggestions?

    Thank you.

You do not have to do anything special in order to capture bar codes.

You need to hook up the scanner. Unhook the keyboard and plug the scanner chord in the keyboard socket. The scanner chord has an extensin where you hook up the keyboard. And that is it.

Scanner uses the keyboard and works exactly as the keyboard, just much faster. The scanner reads the bar code and the value gets transmitted into your Access form or table right away.

To produce and print bar codes yourself, is a bit more complicated.

    :-)
