Question Assign Values Automatically & Insert Records From Queries

Hi there. I'm facing a problem with my database here.

I have queries to run records which do not match from 2 tables. These 2 tables are not related.

    1. The records are considered closed orders so how do I get MS Access to update the status field in my Master Table as "Closed" automatically.

    2. There are records that are new orders and I want to insert them into my Master Table for more monitoring. How do I insert these records that are ran from a query then?

Any advice and assistance is much appreciated.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

I see this is related to your 4/17 question. A good way to insert records is to use an Append Query. As far as automatic flagging of a field, I think I need more information. Some event has to trigger the flag. What event should it be? When you say "automatic" I think you do NOT mean for it to happen when the operator clicks a button. That's not automatic. So when should it happen?
