    The usual answer is 'when it's ready', and there's no date scheduled. It will still be a while, perhaps 12-18 months before it's released as stable. It must still go through alpha and beta phases, although there's a developer preview edition available. MySQL 4.1 itself is still in alpha, although should be in beta in couple of months.
