    Uninstall of SQL Server 7.0

    Hello,

    Wonder if anyone can help, im trying to remove SQL Server 7 but I keep getting failures because mssearch.exe is being used. I can see if in the process list but I cant manually kill it either i get an access denied if I attempt it.

    My understand of mssearch.exe is that it allows some kind of fast indexing or searching. Does anyone know what relies on this application to run so I can kill it to remove SQL Server 7 ?

    "Microsoft Search service" is used for full-text indexing and search engine

    stop that service.
