    linked server MSDAORA provider

    when setting up a linked server from sql server v7 to oracle v8.06, I get a sql server enterprise manager error message #7399: OLE DB provider 'MSDAORA' reported an error.

    Is 'MSDAORA' the correct @provider value to use in sp_addlinkedserver? If so, what do I need to do to get this driver to work?

    thanks for the quick reply. I did all the steps outlined in your article, but still receive the same error message regarding MSDAORA. Any thoughts?

    Did you reboot your sql server after installing Oracle client?
