Time data types
I am brand new to SQL and working on a project for school. I have a question that is probably embarrassingly simple.
I need to create a timetable in Oracle using a 24 hour clock. My question is when I create the table, what datatype do I use for the time? And what should the statement look like?
(i.e. create table Timetable (Time datatype(WHAT GOES HERE?));
The only datatype that I am familiar with that uses time is DATE, but I don't need actual dates, just times.
I can't enter the times as a string because the database will be used by a java program to perform calculations.
Can anyone offer any assistance?

You will have to use DATE and filter time portion out of it when you query it.
