    defining alert

    if in response to an alert i have defined a job and this job is scheduled for 10.00 am daily, will this job execute daily or only in response to the alert?
    also i have set notifications to my computer in alert as well as in job. buti get notification defined in job and not in alert. why is it so?

    It should execute immediately in response to the alert. Did you experiment with it?

    What kind of notification are you using?.

    In fact, the job should execute daily at 10am and immediately in response to the alert.

    i am using 'net send' for notification.
    i receive the notification everyday at 10.00 but not in respone to alert.
    i wnat the job to execute only in respone to alert and not everyday.

    Then you should disable the schedule, and try add a step to call 'net send'.
