SQL Server Agent running status not showing?

    Hi,
I ahve attached the bmp doc that will show my screen snapshot.
My SQL server Agent service indicator is not showing green as like other server. I have started the serice and running fine. I don't have any problem running the job.
My curious is why that indicator is not showing up.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

It happens to me only on remote servers(EM on NJ connecing to server on CA). But the green light comes up after a min or so.

Are you running EM in your local machine?

To get the status indicator, you must log on to your machine using an account which as at least local admin privilege on the remote server.

Or it could be network issue too.

Even with DBO access the indicator works.

It might be the network. (speculating)

I also used to think that dbo access will give me inidcator light but it does not seem to be case for me.

I think the inidcator is updated by enterprise manager polling function and it uses windows nt authentication to get the status of service.

I have seen many login failure messages in security audit of my server because of this polling. And when I disabled polling there was nothing on security audit.

    Mak/Skhanel,
Thanks for your reply. I checked today morning it is showing up. I am connecting in my cleint system and started the service from here only.
As per Mak it is taking some to show up in client system.
    Thanks,
    Ravi
