sql stop responding after time
Hello,
I am trying to figure out why one of the server where I work, will run perfect for a various amout of time and then just stop responding. I have 2 identical sql 2000 sp3 servers on 2 machines and one works great and the second (dell 2600, 2G Ram, win2k) will stop responding at different intervals and times. When it stops responding I check the system resources and there is plenty of memory and cpu left, so I am confused. The system gives no error messages when it goes down. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? Again the systems have the same software and databases on both machines.
Thanks for any help,
Brian

When it stops responding are you able to connect to it?
Can you check database error log to see if database restarted by itself?

No I can't. Every time that I try it tells me connections failed.
