    MSSQL For 64-Bit OS (Windows 2003 64-Bit)

    Is there anyway We could install a MSSQL server 2000 32-Bit in the Windows 2003 Server 64-Bit? Or Any Solution? Or is there any Evaluation Copy we could get from microsoft of 64-bit MSSQL Server? Please help i am lost in 64-Bit MSSQL. Coz my company recently upgraded to 64-bit Windows 2003 sit on a Itatium 2

    Yes, it is possible to run 32 bit SQL on Windows 2003.

    It's possible but you don't get 64-bit performance, may even worse.

    I mean you even get worse performance if run 32-bit apps on 64-bit os. Better to run 64-bit sql2k on 64-bit os.

    Even 32 bit applications will benefit because of better CPU and IO management.

    Windows 64-bit version runs 32-bit apps in subsystem that emulates 32-bit environment, may cause performance hit.
