MS-SQL Question: Client-side applications
I recently completed my MCDBA [SQL2K].
I'm by no means an expert but I'm constantly learning & refining my knowledgebase.
=
Now, I would like to learn client-side application development.
=
I would like recommendations for a dev. environment to be utilized for accessing data contained in SQL server databases, and presenting that data to an end user [client]in a dynamic format.
=
What are the most effective & widely used?
Web Based Dev. enviroments?
Application based dev. environments?
=
I recently aquired both Foxpro 8.0, & .net 2003. And my initial evaluation is that both these systems would take me profoundly into programming, which is not my immediate objective. For, to get heavily into programming would detract from my SQL Server studies & my Server 2003 studies. I'm also an MCSE & MCSA.
=
Any Recommendations would be appreciated.
*=Thanks=*

Whole world is going towards .NET (I know I am exaggerating)
Try this
www.asp.net
Install visual studio.net and start playing with VB and C# (I dont know why it is called C sharp instead of C Hash).
You will have atleast one month of work to play with client server WEB applications.

Thanks for the recommendation...

Question: Is it really necessary to indulge into both VB & C#.
=
can't I achieve my objectives with VB.net?
=
*=Thanks again=*
