Restoring SQL 2000 database on SQL 7

Hi there,

I tried to restore SQL 2k database in SQL 7 but encountered an error. May I
ask if there is a way to get around this? I need to get the database
restored..thanks!

You can't restore SQL 2000 database backup in SQL 7.0.

You will have to use DTS to transfer the data and anything else you want (such as login, scheduled jobs, etc).

Hi, thanks for your comment. I have heard of this DTS transfer. I tried to do an export into an excel file and then import it back but it didn't work. Restore will not work cuz SQL 7 is lower, but transfering the data over will as suggested will work for sure? Im thinking it is like a copy and paste thing almost.
