    Unhappy Please Help! Fixed/variable length string for DTS import

    Problem 1:
    I have a platform log file that has 3 fixed length and 1 variable length field. The variable length field can be as many as 450 characters in length or as few as 1. Which leads to Problem 2:
    The DTS wizard doesn't recognize the CR/LF at the end of each line, although using a raw hex editor, I have confirmed that it what is at the end.
    Thus, my records are not importing correctly.
    I am new to SQL and don't know enough about the scripting to solve this quickly on my own.
    Thanks for any help you can give me! The project is due this week!!!
