Tornado Editor (TED)
Tornado users can download the Tornado Editor (TED) - visit the following URL
http://www.aspdb.com/tornado/manual/TedHelp.htm
This editor has a lot of goodies like -
- Built-in Tornado Syntax
- Link to on-line manual
- Built-in Tornado examples
- Build your own templates
- Preview the code localhost or ftp to remote server (aspx, htm, bat).
- Sort, MagicText and all the things I always want in an editor
If I left out anything.. just let me know.

Under preference and setup, your field labels are too long, I cannot read the content of the fields, it seems to use a larger font size for the description and the first 4 or 5 characters of the content are overlaped . This is on both the general and the path screens.
-
must be your screen dpi... what are they. I'll dup that to see what it is like...

1600x1200 32bit color large fonts.
-
I figuered that.. I'll do the same setting and try (large font). Have to reboot... !!
-
OK.. 96 dpi and 120 dpi is difficult to defeat especially in MS language. Delphi is easier in this area. I changed the layout to make the least evil out of the two... go downlaod and let me know howit looks.

Much better, except for the save button, that displays "save setu" instead of setup
-
Yes, corrected... also place the save setup button on ouside.

As you can see, Ted will never be 'finished' as new exmaples, new syntax, how-to will go in all the time. I'll always update the syntax first in Ted before I get to the manual because I use Ted myself all the time. If any of the syntax, examples and how-to is out of sync, please notify me right away.

How can I run TED from my workstation without getting the evaluation copy message, I have my paths pointing to my web server and it works well except for the darn message, I do not run the web services on my workstation. I currently edit my code in Frontpage.
-
a note in the tedhelp.htm
Ted looks for a valid Tornado.id3 file in the /Bin sub-directory under the Tornado Physical Directory in the Preference Setup. If search fails then Evaluation mode will be activated.
Just put a copyo fhte id3 file in your local dev CPU. If still have problem, let me know

OK..made an adjustment. Also look for tornado.id3 at the directory where Ted.exe resides on.
Go get the new version.

New version got rid of evaluation mode message.
Help sceens don't work, typo in address "http://www.aspbd.com/tornado/manual/" and "http://www.aspbd.com/tornado/manual/TedHelp.htm". aspdb is misspelled aspbd.
Also I cannot preview, I get the following error;

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.
