nls support
hi, I want to configure oracle 8i to use different language other than english. My oracle is running on HP unix server. the database is running presently with US7ASCII char set and on american english with data. Please guide me in setting up the same. Thanks

Yes, you can alter your nls configuration, but this don't affect the data in your database. You must change the nls_character_set to the set of characters that you need. Is something like ALTER DATABASE CHARACTER SET we81xxxx (the character set that you want). This change is whithout users connected in your database, and no queues processess running (Alter database open exclusive)
To change you ? por Ñ for example, you have to update these data after the change.
