    diskeeper

I have MS SQL 6.5 ,no other apps running, with RAID 5 on NTFS partition. Will the drive get fragmented with Sql Server? If so, is Diskeeper a safe method of defragmenting?

    Thanks

    diskeeper (reply)

Yes. Because NT/SQL is an exhaustive combination and with the writing and reading occurring behind the scenes, you will get fragmented quickly.

I use Diskeeper Lite on all my NT4/2000 servers for SQL Server, Oracle, and Teradata for NT and it works like a champ.

At least it has thus far!
