Display Autonumber field

Is there a way to display the contents of an autonumber field in the add new record form display. I have an application that assigns Purchase Order numbers and the users would like to have the next available purchase order number displayed automatically for them as the default.

Mike,

See the thread on this Forum called "Returning the DB Key ..."
The answer is there.
HOWEVER the new key is unknown until AFTER the record gets added, so the user won't see it on the add screen until after the "Add Record Now" button gets clicked.
