    Searching Databases

On the filter form, is it possible to have default values stored by typing in the first letter and getting a value, instead of having a drop down field or just a blank field.

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi J,

We're limited by what you can do with HTML. However, if you're asking that if you can type in a letter to "advance" down to a value that works today. Go to the examples page (www.aspdb.com/examples) and click on example B5 which has 3 drop-down lists. If you click on (or tab into) the ProductID field and press a key such as 4 or 5, you'll see that it will advance down the list to the first value that starts with that number.

That's the best you can get out of today's HTML standards.

    Hope this helps,

    John
