    Downloading Files

    Is anyone having problems using the download function in asp-pro? When using ie 4.x, everything works well. However, when using ie 3.x it errors out and will not download the file. I`ve used the default file name, I`ve also tried specifying my own file name using the "dbCSVName" parameter. Any ideas?

    Downloading Files (reply)

    Jesse,

    We went thru this issue some time ago and the following is the situation -

    * Different browser < 4.0 behaves differently. e.g. NS 3.01 works and 3.0 and 3.02 doesn`t.

    * In version < 4.0 the dbCSVName would not be effective most of the time, instead, the "asp" filename will be prompted. User has to manually change to the correct name. One common way is to make the asp file extension call "csv" and add "csv" to the asp file extension in the IIS server admin. Not a good solution at all.

    * The only clean solution is to use 4.0+.
