Hi there. I am totally new to all this. Im working for a guy who wants a data-driven website.
Basically, a user inputs order info into a web form.
I need to keep track of the orders, have the user be able to track his order progress online (and all order and payment history), email the order to my boss and allow him to update the clients order information through another web form.

I figure that a database driven site is the best way to accomplish this. I of course know HTML and have learned just enough perl/cgi and SQL to be dangerous

NE ways, i cant figure out how to hook it all together. I keep hearing about all these different things that need to be in place.

Can someone please explain to me what needs to happen from the time the user
clicks the 'send' button.
Im on a windows 98, using an Xitami server and Mysql..id like to use perl for any programming that needs to be done as I have a grasp of it already.

Or if anyone knows of a decent online tutorial that explains this that would be WONDERFUL.

PS...if I hear about linux/unix stuff I will throw something through my screen, so please, if at all possible stay away from that

Oh yeah...please, im a virgin!....BE GENTLE LOL

Thanks

Genelle
