    Anti-virus and SQL?

Do you have antivirus software on your SQL 7 server? Which antivirus product?

    Looking for input...

    Thanks.

Usually the SQL server would be dedicated to this role only and the only traffic is SQL specific. To the best of my knowledge there is no virus (or scanner) around that would have an impact here. The SQL data files are held open and are protected from any damage ... except idiot (or malicious) users!

We use McAfee AntiVirus version 4.03. We have not noticed any performance impact on any of our servers.
